WARJI TOWN AND HER UNIQUE SYNCHRONIZED GENERATOR SOUNDS

About 6 months ago, I came across a social media campaign with the hash tag #LightUpWarji which is/was meant to inform the state populace about the sad reality of Power-less town of Warji and possibly solicit for government's infrastructural intervention to manage and extinguish the prevailing situation.

I tried contacting the conveners of the campaign to marry my mind with the situation. I was lucky to get a skeletal description of the stay in the dark trend in Warji.

Warji town; the local government capital is home to lots of  top government  folks past and present who are having influence in the proceeding of events at the Local, State and National level. One will instantly catch a sneeze to find out that the town is actually darker during the day than at night. Yea !!I

Descending down hill into Warji, one is welcomed by buzzing sounds of generators mixed by the wind into a beautiful harmonized song of no lyrics.

I met a young man (name: withhold) who thrives on this misfortune greatly by charging people's phones from 6am to 10p.m. he was kind to allow me indulge him in my 'unbankrolled' space of curiosity. He said and I quote " Oga ,ai rabuwan mu da wutan lantarki  a Warji, tun kakan bara "  (Get a translation). I instantly felt sad cos my phone was just 15% and I needed it charged again but I learnt JEDC won't restore light soon as it was ceased a long time ago due to faulty lines/installations.

My time at Warji was more of a salad of known condiments. I live at Similar place within Bauchi Metropolis, so I know how unsettling lack of power could get, but my area is an Abuja to Warji right now.

The aforementioned campaign seemed to have lost steam and even when it had its three legs ,it could only make three prints at once. The quest to get light back should have been a holistic effort by all who  thinks power in 2021 is crucial for a well-meaning society: Warji or not.

It became necessary that I lend a voice abi ink to say Warji could do with some light (power) soon. Whether Warji people have channel their predicament to the authorities concern or not ,a reminder here or there won't be out of place.

I wish to applaud Mr Ayuba Ganya (Smalls) , Mr Yusuf Bindi, Mr Musa Yau for being the face of the said Campaign even though meeting them for more information proved fruitless ( You know how big Abuja going people Behave na ) I had wanted my piece not to look like a situational review.
